A Spirit's Idea of Happiness [ AND ] Ghosts, through a Writing-Medium; Two Titles in One Volume.
London: Nichols & Co. / Tutin, 1898. First Edition. Hardcover. Octavo. 344pp + 29pp. Original brown cloth lettered in gilt on spine and gilt rules to upper board. Two titles in one volume each with its own title page. Published anonymously, both appear to have been written by British poet and author John Ramsden Tutin (1855-1913) and are the result of "automatic writing" received by Tutin. The second work is particularly interesting, being essentially, it suggest, a work on ghosts, by a ghost. Cloth lightly rubbed and darkened, spine ends bruised and chafed, contemporary owner's name date etc on front free endpaper, eps unevenly browned, pages toned but clean & unmarked. Overall a tight, clean VG copy. Very unusual. Item #60008
