Cairo Stela 666. Stele of Revealing.

Comprises a 24 page booklet and 8 (of 10) loose plates, all housed in a specially-made black cloth folder with gilt stamped title on the front. Edition limited to 93 copies, each individually numbered on a loosely inserted limitation slip this copy no. 14. The material in the folder is focused on the Stele of Revealing, the object which played an important part in Crowley's reception of "The Book of the Law." The booklet includes Crowley's paraphrase of the text of the Stele of Revealing, the translation by Gardiner that was originally published in "The Equinox" in 1912, and the 1997 DuQuesne transliteration and translation, juxtaposed with colour reproductions of the original hieroglyphics. The eight loose plates are high quality reproductions in colour and black and white (as appropriate), of plates that were originally published in the first eleven numbers of "The Equinox" series. The plates present are: "The Interpreter" a photo of Leila Waddell, "The Master Therion" by Leon Engers Kennedy; obverse of "Stele of Ankh-af-na-khonsu" (with blank verso); reverse of "Stele of Ankh-af-na-khonsu" (with blank verso); "May Morn" (painting by Aleister Crowley); "The Silent Watcher" (photograph); "The Regimen of the Seven" (painting by J. F. C. Fuller; "The Student" (portrait photo of Crowley). The two plates that are MISSING are obverse of "Stele of Ankh-af-na-khonsu" (with Crowley's poetic interpretation of the hieroglyphs on verso); and reverse of "Stele of Ankh-af-na-khonsu" (with Crowley's poetic interpretation of the hieroglyphs on verso), suggesting that the previous owner might have been a Thelemite who perhaps removed them for use in constructing an altar stele.
