Item #60315 Memoirs of Aleister Crowley. James HARVEY, Aleister Crowley: related works.

Memoirs of Aleister Crowley.

Los Angeles: Echelon Book Publishers / Impact Library, 1967. First Edition. Softcover. Small octavo. 190pp. Pocket sized paperback. "Far more infamous in sexual bestiality than the Marquis de Sade." A mildly pornographic book, obviously aimed at the "men's market" that was published in 1967. It is loosely based on episodes from Crowley's life - probably borrowed from John Symond's "The Great Beast" and newspaper reports - around which the (presumably pseudonymous) author has woven a racy and very fictional narrative. Previously from the library of English bibliophile and Aleister Crowley scholar Nicholas Bishop-Culpeper, with his book-label loosely inserted. Covers rubbed and lightly chafed, edges rubbed, short tear to upper edge of rear cover, inside covers and pages quite browned, a little glue residue at inner hinges, clean. Overall a tight, unmarked VG copy . Quite scarce. WAS $50.00. Item #60315
