The first edition of the two volumes of this massive reference by George Soulié de Morant (1878 -1955), French scholar and diplomat. Soulié de Morant served as French consul in several Chinese cities with the French diplomatic corps but is best known for his later role in introducing acupuncture to the West and for his translations of Chinese literature.
