The scarce first edition of this overview of the history and practice of mesmerism. From the collection of Dr. M. H. Coleman, with his ex-libris seal blind-stamped on the front free endpaper. Cloth rubbed, darkened and discoloured - spine even more so, corners and spine ends bumped and rubbed with some light fraying at lower corner, light - 1/2 inch damp mark affecting fore-edge of boards and pages, endpapers discoloured, pages toned, text unmarked.
