Besant was a prolific writer and powerful orator, who became the president of the Theosophical Society and produced a vast body of literature explaining and exploring Theosophical thought and belief. Cloth a bit rubbed, large discolored patch (stain) on front board, page edges browned, spine ends and points bruised and a little rubbed, London Theosophical Society Library bookplate on front pastedown (no other marks), endpapers cracking at front inner hinge but holding firm. Page edges darkened and pages a bit toned. Overall a solid and clean VG copy, Scarce, Item #61056
