Aleister Crowley: A Memoir of 666. With four poems by Aleister Crowley.

London: Victim Press, 1971. First Edition - Limited. Softcover. Octavo. 20pp. White stapled wrappers lettered in black. Edition limited to 350 numbered copies of which this is number 44 (there were also purported to be 16 lettered copies). Presentation inscription in French from the co-publisher on the limitation page: "pour [recipient's name erased] en hommage, de Victor Hall [signed] ce premier livre de Victim Press, Londres et Paris, Edit de 30.12.77." A memoir of Crowley by Allen Burnett-Rae who first got to know Crowley in 1934, and remained a friendly acquaintance for six years until he drifted out of Crowley's orbit after the beginning of the Second World War. The book also includes four (then) unpublished poems by Crowley from his "Book of Oaths" supplied to the publishers by Gerald Yorke. The publishers whose names were combined to give the Victim imprint were Victor Hall and Tim D'Arch Smith. A few light marks (possibly a few smeared tea-drops?) to front wrapper, otherwise a tight, clean VG+ copy (this copy in a removable glassine jacket. We've never seen one on a copy before, and presume that it was added by an earlier owner to protect the wrappers so have left it in place, although it could easily be discarded if not required).
