The Heptarchia Mystica of John Dee; a primer of hermetic science and magical procedures by the Elizabethan scholar-mage

Wellingborough: The Aquarian Press, 1986. Second enlarged edition. Softcover. Octavo. 126pp, iipp adverts. Frontis portrait, illustrations, analytical notes, appendix, selected bibliography. Robert Turner's pioneering edition of Dee's 'De Heptarchia Mystica,' a book of instructions for communicating with angels and winning their favour, that survives in manuscript form (Sloane 3191 in the British Library). This second edition is revised and and expanded from that first published in the Magnum Opus Hermetic Sourceworks series in 1983, and includes new essays by Robin Cousins on Dee's Religious Magic and his last years in Mortlake. An important and surprisingly difficult-to-find volume. Light rubbing to covers and edges, light bump and crease to upper corner - else a tight, unmarked VG+ copy. Item #61267
