Carmichael, CA: Boleskine House Records, 1987. First Edition: Limited. Vinyl Record in original printed sleeve. Record is pressed on blue vinyl, the centre label has the A.'. A.'. seal printed on one side, and the details of the recording on the other, along with the Thelemic greetings, etc. The front panel of the sleeve has a photogaph of Jimmy Page holding the Stele of Revealing in front of what is supposed to be a portrait of Crowley, the rear panel comprises a collage of 24 photographs of Jimmy Page, Aleister Crowley, Boleskine, Page's Equinox Bookshop, Zeppelins (the Hindenburg) etc. The text across the bottom reads "Digital Transfer Stereo Processed by Dennis Rose IVo O.T.O. Produced by Christopher Dietler 32o A.A.S.R. IVo O.T.O." Complete with one original single-sided and one original double-sided xeroxed explanatory sheet/ prospectus (both loosely inserted). An Unofficial Release. Limited numbered edition, this being copy Number 152. This copy additionally signed / inscribed "Christopher Dietler / to David" next to the limitation (inscription quite faint). The number of copies pressed is not stated, but it is generally accepted to have been 1000. Released in June 1987, the record comprises 23 minutes of instrumental music which Page provided as the soundtrack for the film "Lucifer Rising", by Kenneth Anger. The soundtrack was recorded at Boleskine House - which Page then owned - in late 1973 and early 1974, but was never released with the film due to a falling out between Anger and Page. Apparently the producer of this record, Christopher Dietler, bought one of only a few surviving prints of the film with the Page soundtrack from Anger, which he then used to make this record. Dietler allegedly had permission from neither Anger nor Page to use the music, and was apparently subsequently expelled from the O.T.O. for breeching other people's copyrights and possible conflicts of interest. The music itself is not generally rated as Page's best, obviously the object has a fascinating history. We are book sellers and not used to grading records, so what follows is a general guide only. The outer, printed, sleeve is somewhat creased and rubbed at the edges, but otherwise VG, the blank inner sleeve has "Zardoz" and a Carmichael CA address and telephone number penned on it, suggesting that whoever it was, was in some way related to the release of the record. The flyers are in VG+ condition. The record has no obvious scratches, and appears in very nice condition, but we have not played it and it is sold "as is." Item #61432
