Andrew Jackson Davis (1826 - 1910), was a renowned American spiritualist and prophet, who was immensely influential in the history of Spiritualism, particularly with regard to the merging of psychically obtained revelations with religious principles, and his thoughts on after-death realms, which were adopted by many later Spiritualists. For a period of 15 months, commencing in 1846 , he dictated his first book: "The Principles of Nature, Her Divine Revelations, and A Voice to Mankind" based on revelations from a higher state. He went on to write over 30 books including "The Present Age and Inner Life" which was first published privately by Jackson in 1853 and later reissued in this significantly revised and enlarged edition Thus this is the "first" of the best edition of this work. Cloth a little rubbed overall, all edges and extremities chafed with some loss & fraying - especially at corners and spine ends, page edges and endpapers a bit darkened, a few underlines and notes to less than 20 pages - otherwise the text is clean.
