The first English language edition of the autobiography of Jerome Cardan (1501 – 1576) an Italian polymath, whose interests included mathematics, medicine, biology, chemistry, astrology and astronomy, and philosophy who wrote more than 200 works on science. The book itself is renowned as one of the first, and best, examples of pyschological autobiography. Corners and spine ends a bit bruised and lightly rubbed, page edges & first and last leaves a bit darkened and foxed, owner's name on front pastedown, pages toned with a few creased corners and some scattered underlining (minimal), else a tight, serviceable near VG copy in Good dust jacket (Dust jacket a little chafed and chipped at edges, some minor tape repair to reverse side, edges browned, not clipped).
