A collection of numerous case studies of "thoughtography," also known as thermography or psychic photography: the supposed ability to use psychic powers to impress or "burn" mental images onto surfaces such as photographic film. The author, Tomokichi Fukurai (1869-1952) was a Japanese clinical psychologist who first introduced the term "thoughtography" after his 1910 study of psychic photography in Tokyo. This is the first English language edition of his major work on the subject originally published in Japan in 1913 under the title "Toshi to Nensha" ("Nensha" being the Japanese term for "thoughtography"). From the collection of Dr. M. H. Coleman, although not marked as such. Cloth a little faded at spine and edges of boards, spine ends & corners lightly bruised and rubbed, heavy bump to fore-edge of both boards.
