George Barton Cutten (1874–1962) was a Canadian-born psychologist, moral philosopher, historian and university administrator who wrote a number of books on psychology and this one, an historical survey of the subject of "mental healing" which includes chapters on: Early Civilizations, Christianity, Relics and Shrines, Healers, Talismans, Amulets, Charms, Royal Touch, Mesmer etc, The Healers of the Nineteenth Century. From the collection of Dr. M. H. Coleman, though not marked as such. Cloth a bit rubbed and darkened, spine a little discoloured with chafing and light fraying at ends, endpapers quite darkened, pages toned. Still overall a tight, unmarked near VG copy. Item #61498
