NP: Silver Star Associates, 2002. Limited Edition. Hardcover. Octavo. Approx 118pp. Hand sewn and bound, three cloth tapes across spine, silk cloth boards, blindstamped with pentagram design. Marbled endpapers. Black and white sigils, etc. in text, five tipped in plates with stele type designs on papyrus-coloured background. The book loosely wrapped in a beautifully tanned leather animal hide (as issued). Edition limited to 50 hand-numbered copies signed by the author and with a large hand-drawn talismanic design and instructions on the verso of the title page. One of the most famous and sought-after modern grimoires, by the enigmatic Jack Macbeth. According to the author the book contains "a most extreme ritual … that concerns shape-shifting / atavistic resurgence for the purpose of activating the darkling beast within each of us." While clearly original in concept and construction, the book references Aleister Crowley and Andrew Chumbley, and has something of the literary flavor of Austin Osman Spare. Book and hide both in Fine condition. Item #61577
