London: Wieland and Co., 1913. First edition. Hardcover. 16mo. 132pp. Original black cloth with gilt titling on spine and title within an elaborate Egyptian-themed decorative border on the front cover. Errata slip facing p. 61. Black and white photographs of Crowley (on donkey) and Leila Waddell . One of Crowley's most important, and cryptic works. He wrote of it: "this book deals with many matters on all planes of the very highest importance. It is an official publication for Babes of the Abyss, but is recommended even to beginners as highly suggestive." From the collection of English bibliophile and Aleister Crowley scholar Nicholas Bishop-Culpeper, with his book-label lightly tipped in at the rear (this could be easily and invisibly removed, but it would be a shame to do so). A hint of rubbing to the points, edges a little darkened, endpapers unevenly browned, still a clean, unmarked, near Fine copy - and very unusual thus (no dustjacket - none issued). Item #61589
