Chelmsford, UK: Xoanon Publishing Ltd., October 31, 2003. Sethos Edition, X-Series or ‘Twin-Lions’. Hardcover. Large octavo. x + 366pp. Hollen green cloth with gilt stamped "Twin-Lions" on upper board making it unique from the standard Sethos Edition of the year before. Gilt titling to spine, black-on-black endpapers, glossary, illustrated, and (unusually) housed in matching clothbound slipcase. This Twin-Lion edition, issued one year after the Sethos edition, is limited to 22 hand numbered copies, this being copy out of series. The X-series was the final binding of the Sethos Edition. After the Standard, Deluxe and Special "Sethos" editions were bound, 22 unbound copies remained - and the decision was made to bind them as a final Seal upon the Work, using the Twin Lions and Wand of Sethos from the cover of the first edition of Azoetia to complete the Circle. Because it was a portion of the title that manifest unplanned, it was not announced by Xoanon at the time. Once bound, the eleven odd numbered volumes went to the UK for private sale and the eleven even numbered copies remained in the United States for sale at specific dates, this being copy number 20. The Sethos edition is comprised of a revised text together with additional formulae and around 45 illustrations, many previously unseen. Azoetia was originally published by in 1992 in a limited edition of only 300 copies, 'Azoetia or The Book of the Magical Quintessence,' and then in 2002 in the Sethos editions, the "standard edition" of that printing being limited to 484 numbered copies. Azoetia has become one of the most sought-after new magical works of our time and ís considered the foundation text of the Cultus Sabbatai and is out of print in all editions. A tight, bright copy in near Fine condition, lightly rubbed slipcase. Item #61777
