By Augusta Foley Rhys Davids (1857–1942) aka Mrs. Rhys Davids, who was best known as an editor, translator, and interpreter of Buddhist texts in the Pali language. She was honorary secretary of the Pali Text Society from 1907, and its president from 1923 to 1942. The Pali Text Society was founded by Mrs. Rhys Davids' husband - Thomas William Rhys Davids. From the collection of Dr. M. H. Coleman, although not marked as such. Covers a bit darkened and rubbed, edges lightly chafed and creased, spine darkened, pages toned but unmarked.
