Boston: Congregational Board of Publication, 1857. First Edition. Hardcover. Octavo. 92pp. Original black pebbled cloth illustrated in blind and lettered in gilt on spine. A scarce anti-spiritualist work in which the author suggests that spiritualists are worshippers of the dead (necromancers) and warns of the dangers of the practice. From the collection of Dr. M. H. Coleman, although not marked as such. Cloth a bit rubbed and spot faded, spine faded and chafed at ends, a few bumps and snags to corners and edges, endpapers discoloured, owners name and details on front blank, page edges darkened and pages toned, text unmarked. Overall a tight about VG copy of this scarce volume. Item #62091
