NP [Glastonbury]: Notes and Queries for Somerset and Dorset, ND [1938]. First Edition Thus. Softcover. Booklet. Octavo. 4pp, illustrated. Plain white wrappers lettered in black. Diagram. An unusual work on the sacred geometry of Glastonbury Abbey with a diagram of the Abbey by Frederick Bligh Bond. An off-print from "Notes and Queries for Somerset and Dorset" June 1938 (no. 206). Frederick Bligh Bond (1864 -1945) an architect who was employed by the Church of England to undertake the excavations at Glastonbury Abbey. A Freemason, Theosophist, and member of both the Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia and the Society for Psychical Research, he applied the skills normally associated with psychism and Spiritualism, in addition to the more conventional archaeological and historical means when executing his task. This brought down the wrath of the Church hierarchy, who eventually dismissed him. A bit darkened and rubbed, staples rusty with some offset, creased corners, text clean. Overall a complete unmarked VG+ copy of this scarce offprint. Item #62130
