Seattle WA: Trident Books [ Heptangle Books ], ND [ Circa 2010 ]. Reprint. Hardcover. Large octavo, xxvi+ 112 pp. Dark navy cloth with gilt titling to spine. Produced by Trident Books of Seattle - a recent facsimile reprint of the scarce 1977 Heptangle limited edition. The text is Driscoll's version of "The Sworn Book of Honorius" (Liber Iuratus Honorii) one of the oldest and most important works of mediaeval magic, supposedly compiled by a group of magicians so that their work would survive them in the event of persecution. While Driscoll's version of the text has not been without its critics, the work was pioneering both in terms of making the text available in English translation, and for the production of a grimoire as a handsomely printed object of virtu. Oddly this Trident reprint edition is less commonly seen than the original Heptangle printing and it seems likely that only a small number of copies were printed. Page edges slightly darkened, a few spots of browning to rear endpaper, very faintly musty. Still a tight, clean near Fine copy in near Fine mylar protected dust jacket. Item #62206
