Item #62233 The Esoteric Orders and Their Work. Dion FORTUNE.

The Esoteric Orders and Their Work.

London: Rider & Co., (1928). First edition. Hardcover. Small octavo. 142 pp. Original brown cloth with black title, etc. to spine, black rules. A study of the various esoteric traditions in the West, along with practical advice on the use of ritual, the powers of oaths and obligations, the meaning of initiation, and the selection of an occult group or school. Although complete and independent in itself, Fortune regarded her later publication "The Training and Work of an Initiate" as effectively a companion-volume. Corners and spine ends lightly bumped and chafed, a few bumps to edges, spine canted, a bit of rubbing to cloth. Inside front hinge cracking, but holding firm, page edges and endpapers unevenly browned, first and last few leaves lightly foxed, otherwise unmarked. Overall a solid, clean about VG copy.
