Written by Dion Fortune (1891-1946) one of the twentieth century's most famous occultists: a former member of the Golden Dawn who founded her own order, The Fraternity of the Inner Light. An unusual work: Dion Fortune examines Spiritualism in all its aspects: trance mediumship, clairvoyance, communication with the dead, etc., from the perspective of a practicing occultist. Fore-edges of both boards unevenly and heavily faded, light bruising and rubbing to spine ends and corners, endpapers heavily browned with some red bleed from book cloth on extreme edges, bookshop sticker front blank, pages toned, 1/8 " worm-hole at bottom of text pages (affecting the first 40 pages - but no loss of text), owner's name on pastedown.
