The first publication of this collection of four treatises by Theophrastus Von Hohenheim, better known as "Paracelsus". The first treatise is the most personal work by Paracelsus in which he gives justification of his own character, activities and views. The second is a study on the diseases of miners and was the first treatise ever written on the diseases of an occupational group. The third is a document on on the psychology and psychiatry of Paracelsus, and the fourth is a Book on "Nymphs, Sylphs, Pygmies, and Salamanders, and Other Spirits" and is considered by the editor to be "a good sample of his philosophy and theology". Cloth a bit rubbed & darkened with a few light spots, corners and spine ends bruised and rubbed, page edges and endpapers darkened and a bit discoloured, owner's name in pencil front blank - else a tight, and unmarked better-than VG copy.
