An early printing of this work first published in 1909 and written by Rufus M. Jones (1863 - 1948), a Maine-born Quaker author with a profound interest in mysticism, who argued that the Divine had the form of a personal being, with whom it was possible for human beings to interact as individuals.This volume collects twenty essays on various apects of mysticism. Boards a bit rubbed and darkened, spine ends and corners bruised and chafed, page edges and endpapers a bit darkened and discolured, owner's name and date in ink on front pastedown, a very small amount of penciled underling to a few dozen pages (easily erased). Still overall a solid mostly clean near VG copy. (no dust jacket). Item #62442
