Item #62555 Sexual Magic. Paschal Beverly RANDOLPH, and, Edited, Translated, Robert North, Edward James.

Sexual Magic.

New York, NY: Magickal Childe, 1988. First Edition Thus. Softcover. Large Octavo. xxxii +142pp (ipp advert). Frontis, b&w illustrations, appendices. This work is attributed to Paschal Beverly Randolph (1825-1875) , one of the pioneers of Rosicrucianism in America. The text is based on a work, Magia Sexualis, published in Paris in 1931, that claimed to be a reprint of a clandestinely distributed work for Randolph's European students. In reality it seems to have been assembled from a number of his published writings, plus some additional material, the origin of which is disputed. Although some have called the book fraudulent, it clearly is comprised largely of Randolph's material and is an important collection. Covers a bit worn, darkened and discoloured. All edges and extremities chafed, corners bumped and lightly curled, page edges a little darkened and thumbed. Despite some wear - this is still a tight, unmarked near VG copy of this hard to find title. Item #62555
