Octavo. 8.5 x 5.5 inches. 16pp. Orange stapled wrappers lettered in black on upper cover, "NOT for general circulation" printed beneath the title on the upper wrapper, Errata loosely inserted at front. A booklet put together in response to a call by the Conference of Women Missionaries in July 1939. It comprises a Foreword, and then an outline of their request; an "historical memorandum" on possession and exorcism by Dr. Hermitage Day; a collection of opinions on the subject (varying between 2 and 10 paragraphs in length) by 11 African Bishops; a 4 page "Form of Exorcism in use in the Diocese of Zanzibar"; and "Expressions of opinion from Missionary Doctors and Nurses." From the collection of Dr. M. H. Coleman, although not marked as such. Covers are unevenly darkened and lightly rippled (damp?), upper cover detached at lower spine edges (but still holding on quite well), horizontal crease to booklet, price sticker on rear cover, all edges chafed and creased, pages darkened and rippled, one pen notation on Foreword, otherwise a complete unmarked Good copy.
