An account of the trial of Eugene Aram (1704 – 1759) a skilled English philologist and teacher, who was convicted of the murder of one Daniel Clark and hanged at York's Tyburn on 16 August 1759. The story was intriguing and gained considerable notoriety: it became the subject of a well-known poem by Thomas Hood which is included in this booklet. Also included are excerpts from two booklets Norrison Scatchered published about the murder. Leather heavily rubbed at folds, corners rubbed and lightly rounded, front free endpaper torn out, the binding is still strong, and the booklet itself complete and in VG+ condition. Item #62792
