Original navy blue cloth lettered in gilt on spine & front board, blind borders on both boards, b/w frontis & plates. One of the first books solely on the subject of spirit photography. It includes the first publication in book form of J. Traill Taylor's important essay "'Spirit Photography,' with remarks on fluorescence" along with press reviews and notices concerning it, and a selection of other essays on the subject. Spine darkened and slightly canted, all edges rubbed with a few light bumps, corners and spine ends lightly bumped and chafed, page edges and endpapers lightly toned, pages toned with a very few spots of light foxing, ink stamp to rear endpaper, no other marks. Overall a tight, clean VG copy. Quite scarce. Item #62880
