The author investigates that then-recent incidents of table-rapping, table-turning and spirit music, and concludes that while the phenomena may be genuine (as opposed to fake) they are not the work of "spirits" but of the deceased, but rather of "the spirits of devils working miracles." From the collection of Dr. M. H. Coleman, with his ex-libris blind seal on front endpaper. Binding fresh and in about Fine condition, contents bright and unmarked.
