The Kybalion: A Study of the Hermetic Philosophy of Ancient Egypt and Greece. "THREE INITIATES"

The Kybalion: A Study of the Hermetic Philosophy of Ancient Egypt and Greece.

Chicago, IL: Yogi Publication Society, ND. Reprint. Hardcover. Small octavo. 224pp. Blue cloth boards, lettered in gilt on spine & front board. A reprint of this book first published in 1912. "The Kybalion: Hermetic Philosophy" is a work which claims to distill and make clear the essential teachings of Hermes Trismegistus. It was anonymously published under the pseudonym of "Three Initiates" - which has led to much debate as to the real identity of the author or authors with perhaps the most plausible theory being that it was written by William Walker Atkinson, either alone or with the assistance of others. This book has the copyright renewal date 1940, but unfortunately the Yogi Publication Society were not known for differentiating between printings so it is impossible to tell exactly when it was published. However the type of cloth used in the binding and lack of an ISBN number suggests that it almost certainly dates no later than the early 1970s, and more likely from the 1950s or 1960s. Covers lightly rubbed, corners slightly bruised, pages a bit toned - otherwise a tight clean VG+ copy. Item #63106
