An early hardcover reprint of this work by Irishman, George William Russell (1867 – 1935) who wrote under the pseudonym Æ (sometimes written AE or A.E.). Russell was a friend of William Butler Yeats, a mystical writer, poet, and painter, as well as being the centre of a group of followers of theosophy in Dublin for many years. "The Candle of Vision" sets forth in prose Russells' mystical excursions into the other world. Boards rubbed, darkened and a bit discoloured, spine ends and corners bruised and chafed, a few tiny tears at upper spine -and spine label darkened and chipped at edges, page edges browned, owner's names on front blank and half title page, pages toned but unmarked. Still a solid G+ copy (no dust jacket). Item #63164
