Skoob Occult Review. Issue No. 3, Autumn 1990.

London: Skoob Books Publishing, Ltd., 1990. First Edition. Softcover. Quarto. 56pp. Glossy pictorial wrappers, b&w & colours illustrations. The Autumn 1990 edition of the "Skoob Occult Review" - which ran for five issues before ceasing publication (there was also a single precursor issue, titled simply "Skoob Review"). Aside from an interview with Kenneth Grant, this issue is particularly significant as it includes the first published work of Andrew D. Chumbley, an essay entitled "A Short Critique and Comment Upon Magic" which was accompanied by a small drawing, seemingly a variant of one which would later be published in his "Azoëtia." Contents: Babalon (colour artwork) by Rob Taylor; Churton Fairman With One of His Carvings (Photograph by Ruth Bayer). The Wheel of Fortune by Churton Fairman; Interview with Kenneth Grant; Dictionary of Alchemy by Diana Fernando; I Was a Childhood Disciple of the Beast by Vivienne Browning; The Whispering Gallery; Book Reviews; Sleeper by Georg Hay. The Search for a Guru by Frank Letchford; The Language of the Witches (part two) by Michael Harrison; The History of La Couleuvre Noire by Frater Joseph; English Adventure Part Three, Circa 1990 by Jonathan Wood; A Short Critique and Comment Upon Magic by Andrew D. Chumbley. Angel of Death (Colour Artwork) by Rob Taylor. Some crea creasing around the staples, light rubbing to covers, very light tea (?) stain to fore-edge margins, and a few splashes inside (it looks as though someone knocked over a cup of tea next to it and quickly mopped it up, but not quickly enough to stop some discoloration and a a little crinkling to the pages. A solid G+ copy. Item #63195
