Item #63411 The Book of the Law. Liber AL vel Legis Sub Figura CCXX. Aleister CROWLEY.

The Book of the Law. Liber AL vel Legis Sub Figura CCXX.

Sydney, Australia: Privately Printed Ordo Templi Orientis Grand Lodge Australia, 2012. Second Australian Grand Lodge Edition. Hardcover. Small octavo (5 and 9/16 x 3 and 15/16 inches) (128pp.). Full red faux leather, with gilt titling to upper board and spine. The second "Australian Grand Lodge" edition of "The Book of the Law" (the first, which was published in 2007, had a number of differences). The book was intended for distribution to O.T.O. members and includes a page (7) at the front where details of the person to whom it was presented could be recorded: [O.T.O. dove and chalice lamen] / ORDO TEMPLI ORIENTIS / GRAND LODGE OF AUSTRALIA / This copy presented to: [blank] / In the Valley of: [blank] Date: [blank]. The front cover has "THE / BOOK / OF THE / LAW / LIBER / AL / VEL / LEGIS" stamped in gilt within the decorative Egyptian border. The title "LIBER LEGIS" is lettered down the spine. The book comprises the typeset text of "The Book of the Law" (Liber CCXX), the Tunis Comment, a decorative title page for the manuscript (Liber XXXI) and a photographic reproduction of the manuscript. The reproduction of Liber XXXI is from the same images used in the Second Revised Edition (1997) of "Magick Liber ABA" as is the text of Liber CCXX, which was corrected by Hymenaeus Beta. A note in the colophon reads "Book design and production by Studio 31." The volume was primarily intended for distribution within the O.T.O. It was only published in the year before the discovery of the Windram copy of "Thelema" and decision to revise the word Fill to Kill in Chapter III.37, at which point copies of this edition were no longer distributed, so it seems unlikely that there are many in circulation. A little rubbing to the covers, otherwise a tight, clean, near-Fine copy. Item #63411
