York Beach, ME: Samuel Weiser Inc., 1998. First Edition Thus. Hardcovers. Large thick Octavos. Ten volumes in Two (complete) Each volume containing over 2000 pages. Original white cloth with gilt title, etc. to spine and front cover, gilt rules on spine and cover, color frontis, color plates, b&w illustrations. This two volume edition contains the text, illustrations, etc. of the ten volumes which make up the first series of "The Equinox," which were originally published biannually between 1909 & 1913. Crowley was the editor and principal author of most of the volumes of "The Equinox," which contained a variety of poetry, fiction, and reviews - generally with esoteric themes - alongside a number of articles of occult instruction. This edition includes a new seven page Introduction by Frater Veritas Vincit [Hymenaeus Beta], 34 pages of notes and corrections transcribed from Aleister Crowley's own copies of the volumes, and 14 pages of "Notes on Contributors" compiled by Frater Veritas Vincit, none of which were published in earlier editions. Now out-of-print. A bit of light general shelfwear - edges a bit darkened, corners and spine ends bumped and a bit rubbed, a few light marks from handling, a bit of glue residue at headbands (as common with this set), creased page edges. Still, a tight and unmarked VG+ set. It does not have the (flimsy) cardboard slipcase in which it was issued (which is almost always torn when encountered) but this set does come in the original Publisher's thick printed cardboard mailing box. (no dustjackets - none issued). Very large heavy set - shipping at cost. Item #63609
