The first US edition of this work in which the author seeks to systematically catalogue "the science of human nature" or psychic sciences including: telepathy, mediumship, clairvoyance, spirit communication, automatic writing, spirit photography, ghosts, spiritual healing etc etc. Cloth a bit rubbed and darkened, spine rubbed and gilt lettering to spine much dulled (illegible), corners and spine ends bruised and chafed, top edge darkened, page edges and first & last dozen pages quite foxed with some scattered foxing throughout, pages toned, gift note in pencil on front blank - else unmarked.
