Published under the auspices of the Catholic Church, this is the first book edition of a series first published in the periodical "The Pilot" under the title "Ancient Irish Paganism" over the pen-name 'Gadelicus'. While much of the material is about fairy lore, the essays together, as noted by the author in his Preface: "grew into a regular exposition of the Ancient Irish Mythological System". Cloth lightly rubbed, spine a bit darkened with light bruising to spine ends, very light chafing to points, pages lightly browned, a few pages roughly opened not affecting text, unmarked. Overall a lovely, clean VG+ copy. Item #63795
