Sadhu (Mieczyslaw Demetriusz Sudowski; 1897 - 1971) was an enigmatic Polish-born mystic and author, who wrote a number of books on various aspects of the Western Hermetic tradition before embracing the teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi and Vichara yoga. This is the scarcest first edition of any of Sadhu's works - it deals with the traditions of Theurgy, and includes sections on the tradition in general, the religious traditions, subchapters on Basic Blessing and Invocations; Special Blessings; Various Formulas, Exoricsms; Special Invocations; Defence Against Inimical Forces; Blessing of Animals and Food; Prayers on Parchment, etc. etc. Very light bump to upper edge of rear board, else a tight, bright and unmarked near Fine copy in near Fine dust jacket.
