Archer, Publication of the Society of Friends of the Roerich Museum. Vol. II, January, 1928, No. 1 [ New York - International Prize Story ].

New York, NY: Society of Friends of the Roerich Museum, 1928. First Edition. Softcover. Quarto. ii + 68pp. Original gray illustrated printed wrappers. Frontispiece colour reproduction of Roerich's "White and Heavenly" from "His Country" series. B&w photographs and illustrations. A single issue of this periodical which features essays and articles relating to Nicholas Roerich and his interests, his "Diary Leaves" (part VIII - From Karakorum to Khotan) as well as artwork by Roerich himself (in addition to the frontispiece, there are also black and white reproductions of six paintings by Roerich), and a photograph of him. Although this is identified as Vol. II, No. 1, as far as we can determine only three issues were actually published: No.1. March 24, 1927; No.2. January, 1928 (the issue here described); and No.3–4. 1929. Wrappers fairly well worn, all edges chafed and chipped, some loss to spine, large chip from lower rear corner, pages lightly browned but clean and unmarked. Overall a clean near VG example of this scarce journal. Item #64062
