The first edition of this extensive scholarly historical survey of alchemy - which focuses largely on alchemy as practised from the ancient world to the Middle Ages (with a particular emphasis on Greek, Egyptian and Islamic alchemy). Cloth a bit rubbed and unevenly darkened, spine much darkened, spine ends and corners bruised and rubbed, page edges darkened, owner's name in pen on front blank, pages lightly toned but clean and unmarked.
