It was presumably originally issued in wrappers, which have not been preserved. The sermon seems to have drawn enough attention to warrant a response by noted spiritualist Emma Hardinge Britten in "Prove all things: Spiritualism Versus Satanism: a Reply to the Rev. John Jones, Congregational minister, Liverpool." which was also published in 1871. From the collection of Dr. M. H. Coleman, though not marked as such. Owner's note at upper edge of title page, light creases, some foxing to edges of title page, pages a bit browned else a tight, clean Good + copy. Scarce. Item #64091
