A reprint of the memorial edition of Stainton Moses 'Spirit Teachings,' with an added seventeen page biography of Stainton Moses by Charlton Templeman Speer. William Stainton Moses (1839-1892), English clergyman and spiritualist, was a highly respected figure who claimed a number of clairvoyant and psychical experiences, but was best known for his 'automatic scripts,' said to have been received via direct communication from a band of 'spirits,' between 1872 and 1883. These communications were discussed in his books 'Spirit Teachings' (1883) and 'Spirit Identity,' (1879). A little bruising and chafing to spine ends and corners, one small snag to cloth on top edge of front board, some flecking to the cloth, heavier on the rear board. Endpapers lightly toned, small abrasion on front pastedown where a bookseller's label has been removed,a little scattered pale foxing. Still overall a tight and clean VG copy. No dust jacket.
