Item #64140 The Azoëtia. A Grimoire of the Sabbatic Craft. Andrew D. CHUMBLEY, Sigilized.

The Azoëtia. A Grimoire of the Sabbatic Craft.

Chelmsford, UK: Xoanon, 1992. (First Edition - Limited, Signed). Softcover. Octavo (9" x 6"). 362pp. Original printed paper wrappers. Numerous black and white plates and diagrams, glossary. The true first edition of the late Andrew Chumbley's "The Azoetia," limited to 300 numbered copies. There is also a very small HAND WRITTEN SIGIL BY CHUMBLEY beneath the limitation statement. "The Azoetia," subtitled "A Grimoire of the Sabbatic Craft," has become one of the most sought-after new magical works of the last few decades. It is comprised of three main parts: "an exposition of preliminary magico-aesthetic formulae with detailed descriptions of working tools; the full text of the Sabbatic Rituals of Ingress, Congress, and Egress; and an eleven-chaptered Grimoirium detailing the arcana and composite practices of the Sacred Alphabet - the twenty-two lettered code of sorcerous principles underlying the practical spectrum of the Arte Magical. The entire work intends the reification of traditional British cunning-craft praxis according to the spiritual vision and artistry of a contemporary initiate." Light vertical crease to spine, covers lightly rubbed, points a little chafed and with a hint of curling, normal light signs of wear that could be expected for a soft-cover that is nearly 30 years old. Overall a tight, clean VG+ copy. Most people looking at it would say "almost like new" but given its rarity we have tried to list detail - perhaps over-emphasise - any defects . A rare chance to get the true first edition of what is without doubt one of the most exciting and sought-after magical books of the late twentieth century. Item #64140
