A attractive & substantial modern reprint of what is arguably the best edtion of this work, with an Introduction by Walter Leslie Wilshurst and "an Appendix containing the Table Talk and Memorabilia of Mary Anne Atwood." First written in 1850, Atwood's "Suggestive Inquiry" was one of the first works to systematically expound the now-popular spiritual interpretation of alchemy, and is considered a major work in the nineteenth century alchemical and hermetic canon. Very light bruising and rubbing to corners and spine ends, page edges and pages lightly toned, else a lovely unmarked near Fine copy in VG+ dust jacket (Dust jacket panels a bit darkend and rubbed, spine darkened, light rubbing to all extremities, not clipped but a penciled price added to inner flap.
