Outer portfolio bound in "superior virgin calf-skin" with gilt device to upper board and gilt titling to spine, cloth endpages & fold-overs to secure books the two books within, which are: The Edward Hunter MSS, Transcript and The Edward Hunter Facsimile of Text - each bound in heavy cream wrappers with printed paper title labels on upper covers. Embellished with mysterious figures, talismans, & pentacles. This edition limited to 42 hand-numbered copies issued thus. From the publisher: "Translation of a scarce and important handwritten grimoire possibly copied from an earlier 18th century source, the author's own notes to the contents as well as its style suggests it is a personal copy not for circulation or even private viewing partaking of both the Solomonic grimoire tradition as well as the English ‘Cunning Man’ type of manuscript. The ‘Edward Hunter’ of the title page may have been a Bristol based merchant and one who later had links to the Mormon groups in the United States, thus connecting two worlds" Appears "as new" thus portfolio and interior books are in about Fine condition.
