Gillette, NJ: Heptangle Books, 1983. Second Edition. Hardcove. Octavo. xxvi + 112pp. Maroon buckram with printed paper title label on spine. The second Heptangle edition of Driscoll's version of "The Sworn Book of Honorius" (Liber Iuratus Honorii) one of the oldest and most important works of mediaeval magic, supposedly compiled by a group of magicians so that their work would survive them in the event of persecution. While Driscoll's version of the text has not been without its critics, the work was pioneering both in terms of making the text available in English translation, and for the production of a grimoire as a handsomely printed object of virtu. The First Heptangle Edition was limited to 450 numbered copies, and is quite difficult to find, this Second Edition is itself quite scarce. A beautifully produced Heptangle book. Page edges are a little darkened, very slightly musty - otherwise a tight, clean near Fine copy in Good dust jacket (the soft paper dust jacket is a rubbed, darkened, and discoloured, particularly at folds and spine, a few tiny chips).
