Originally published in a limited edition of 500 copies by the Cuala Press in 1941, this is the first trade edition. An interesting collection of letters written by Bernard Shaw and W.B. Yeats to Florence Farr. Farr, an actress and mystic, who was the mistress of Shaw and close friend of Yeats. She was initiated into the Isis-Urania Temple of the Order of the Golden Dawn in London by Yeats in July 1890 taking the magical motto "Sapientia Sapienti Dona Data" (Latin: "Wisdom is a gift given to the wise"). Not much occult content, although the letters from Yeats include a few interesting comments on MacGregor Mathers and Allan Bennett. Very light rubbing to edges and points, pages lightly toned, else a tight, bright and unmarked VG+ copy in Good dust jacket (White printed jacket rubbed and darkened, chafed and chipped at spine ends and corners, not clipped.
