Item #64579 The Art & Meaning of Magic. Israel REGARDIE, Author's personal copy.

The Art & Meaning of Magic.

Toddington, UK: Helios Books, 1964. First Edition. Hardcover. Small octavo. 46pp. Original red cloth with silver title etc to spine and front board. Originally from the library of Israel Regardie: it is dated "19 March 65 (2:30PM)" (which is presumably the date that he received it from the publisher) in his handwriting on the front blank and there is a correction to a typo, also in his handwriting, on page 26. The book comprises two essays - "The Art of Magic," and "The Meaning of Magic" - in which Regardie gives a practical outline of the principle methods of Golden Dawn-style magic, and draws parallels with Jungian psychology. Spine ends and corners lightly bruised and chafed otherwise a tight, bright and unmarked VG+ copy in a Fair dust jacket (Dust jacket heavily worn and chipped overall, front inner flap missing. Remaining dust jacket is now protected in mylar cover). Item #64579
