The Middle Pillar. A Co-Relation of the Principles of Analytical Psychology and the Elementary Techniques of Magic.

St. Paul, MN: Llewellyn Publications, 1970. Second edition, enlarged and revised. Hardcover. Octavo. 154pp. Original black cloth with gilt title, etc. to spine. A wonderful ASSOCIATION COPY from the library of author Francis King, and INSCRIBED & SIGNED to King by the Regardie on the front blank: "14 May 1971, For Francis King, friend, frater and colleague. Warmly, Israel Regardie". Francis X. King (1934–1994) was a British popular historian of the occult, whose many books played an important part in the renewal of interest in Western Magical traditions in late twentieth century Britain and beyond. "The Middle Pillar" was one of Regardie's best known works, written by him when still in London in 1936. Although the subtitle indicates that it is primarily "A Co-relation of the Principles of Analytical Psychology and the Elementary Technique of Magic," the actual title - "The Middle Pillar" is not misplaced, as the book leans heavily on Kabbalistic theory. Very light bruising to spine ends and corners, light discolored patch (a mopped up tea stain?) to front endpapers, page edges a bit darkened. Thus, a tight, clean VG+ copy in near VG dust jacket (Dust jacket rubbed and darkened overall, creasing and chafing to edges, not clipped. Now protected by removable mylar cover). Item #64623
