Manchester, NH: S. C. Gould, 1907. First Edition. Softcover. Stapled booklet. Original red printed wrappers. Issues are consecutively paginated, this issue containing: 131-172pp, ivpp "books for sale", & vipp Index, quotes, advertisements etc. The fourth issue of the first volume of "The Rosicrucian Brotherhood Quarterly", an esoteric journal founded by Sylvester Clark Gould (1840-1909) in 1907. This was the same year that Gould, in company with George Winslow Plummer, founded the Societas Rosicruciana in America, and the journal was presumably allied to that endeavour. This issue includes: "Christian Rosenkreuz and the Rosicrucians" by W. Wynn Westcott; "Crystal Gazing" (abridged and compiled from a series of letters by the author John Yarker; a review of Atwood's "Suggestive Inquiry into the Hermetic Mystery"; "French Women Masons"; "Johannite Christians" by Kenneth MacKenzie; "The Order of Ishmael or B'Nai Ismael" by John Yarker; "The Hermetic Philosophers" by Hargraves Jennings and excerpted from his "The Rosicrucians"; "Rosicrucian Comments" by Thomas Lake Harris, and various short essays, reviews, a list of Occult Books for Sale, etc. etc. Some discoloration and chipping to the wrappers, spine largely chipped away title page quite darkened, some gatherings starting to separate. Otherwise a complete & unmarked VG copy of a scarce and very fragile publication. Item #64769
