The scarce first edition of Dion Fortune's popular study of the Tree of Life and the Qabalah, one of the more straightforward and accessible studies of the subject. From the collection of Clive Harper with his discrete book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well-known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. Very light rubbing to cloth, light vertical crease to cloth of spine, light chafing to corners and spine ends. Large 1970s (?) occult themed bookplate and small bookseller's label on front pastedown, pages toned but bright and unmarked. Overall a tight, clean VG+ copy in VG+ dust jacket (The dust jacket is a rubbed, darkened and a little discoloured overall, spine darkened, all edges lightly chafed, one short closed tear, not clipped. Now protected by removable mylar cover). Genuinely scarce in dust jacket. Item #64796
